Restoring degraded marine ecosystems

Vriko Yu launched Archireef in 2020, a technology company working to restore marine ecosystems by using 3D printing and terracotta that enable coral fragments to become attached to the seabed, helping them survive and grow. The coral seeded to special terracotta tiles have been able to achieve an impressive survival rate of 95% after 3 years. Archireef works with private sector businesses to restore ecosystems, and educates children, students and professionals with ‘ocean literacy’.
